In life, food is an essential and vital part of growth. From the day a person is born, he or she requires food to grow. In fact, since conception, the embryo needs food (though in the form of nutrients supplied in-utero) to grow until delivery. This essentially means that no one can survive life without food. After delivery of a newborn baby, health practitioners ensure the child starts to feed either directly from the mother or other available and suitable food supply as soon as possible. One of the most dreaded complications of lack of food for a newborn baby is hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), which can be life-threatening and fatal; the baby can die due to lack of food.
Similarly, now that you are born again, you are a newborn baby in the presence of God, and our loving Father is so caring that He doesn’t want you to be a starved or malnourished child of God. He has prepared a readily available meal for you to grow in the Lord: THE WORD OF GOD.
Let’s take a look at these Bible verses.
Matthew 4:4 (KJV)
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Matthew 4:4 (AMPC)
But He replied, It has been written, Man shall not live and be upheld and sustained by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.
Now that you have seen that you cannot live without the Word, what next should you do?
1 Peter 2:2 (NIV)
Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation.
Yes, you read it well. Crave, desire, and long after the Word of God as this is the only guarantee for growth.
Furthermore,
Colossians 3:16 (KJV)
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Thus, ensure you read the Word of God and let it saturate your life richly.
In conclusion, as food is important to the physical body, so and even more importantly is the Word of God essential to the growth of a man spiritually.
Remain blessed as you regularly read the WORD OF GOD.
